The missing 7th School of Magic

So there's Life, Death and the 4 Elemental schools that deal with different forms of matter. The school for all things incorporeal, spiritual and sorcerous seems to be missing.

I think there already was a mind control type of spell in some beta build. What school did it belong to? The mind affecting or spirit stuff don't really fit into any of the existing ones.

Will there be illusions? Illusions are cool. Trickery and misleading is cool. Illusions certainly have their uses both in tactical combat and on the global scale. But I can't place illusion magic in the existing 6 schools either.

So shouldn't there be a 7th "Spirit" school for spells dealing with mind, illusions, telekinesis, mystic forces etc.? Or it could be called "Arcane" or "Sorcery" with things like Counterspells added. It should be just as big as Life and Death and sort of the neutral school between those two.

i think there are actually gonna be more spell books than the ones you mentioned.

Yeah, there's going to be a ton of different tomes. What sort of "mana" mind control and illusions fall under remains to be seen.

They did mention there would be lots of books. But I'm assuming all the books must fall under a school of magic so you can specialize, get bonuses and penalties through items and perks etc. Or hope so at least.

The existing schools we know about pretty much cover all possible spells save for the magic/mind type.

This thread got me wondering if I'm understanding how books work.  The way it seems like it works is you start with X number of books and you add books you find as loot, etc.

End of larrypeters's quote

In the first beta there were technologies that gave you spell books. Having books as quest items would be neat, too.
