ECONOMIC Bonus Tiles & some extra others

Manufacturing, Farming, Influential, Approval, Scientific, but not Economic bonus tiles? Did the devs forget?

Hello. I've noticed that throughout the game, economic bonus tiles are nowhere to be seen. In Dark Avatar, I seriously hope to see them. Here are my suggestions about how the icons should look:

Bronze Japanese Yen Symbol - 100% Economic Bonus
Silver US Dollar Symbol - 200% Economic Bonus
Gold EU Euro Symbol - 300% Economic Bonus
Platinum UK Pound Symbol - 700% Economic Bonus

Some others suggested for addition:

(1 blue teardrop - 100% Approval, already seen in game)
2 sky-blue teardrops - 200% Approval
3 turquoise teardrops - 300% Approval
1 clear teardrop - 700% Approval

(Doric column - 100% Influence, already seen in game)
Ionic column - 200% Influence
Corinthian column - 300% Influence
Bust of a Greek figure - 700% Influence

I don't see why not. The higher bonus tiles can be made incredibly rare if you deem them to be so. More variety is always better in my opinion. Tell me what you think and/or what further suggestions you may have.

U will be lucky...

The developers r currently trying to 'balance' the game by downgrading economic and approval/morale bonuses.

Sorry but I cannot see any of yr ideas seeing the light of day.

Can we even mod this type of thing in? I don't think I've even seen a file that has the bonus tiles listed in it unfortunately...

The bonus tiles, and their frequency, are coded into the exe, so they can only be changed by the devs.

I don't see a good reason as to why they're lowering the bonuses like that, meglobob. In which discussion thread do the devs give their rationale for this?

About whether they see the light of day, what if these extra bonus tiles are simply made incredibly rare?

Read through the journal for news from the developers and click home, read the news articles. Those give u a good idea of where the developers r heading with the game. Read the player comments as well, the developers sometimes respond, stardock r very interactive.

The thread xeno entertainment vs stock exchanges will give u a good idea as well.

Don't get me wrong, I think yr idea has merit.

1 or 2 at the most such tiles per galaxy would add a new fun element to the game. The AI's would stand an equal or better chance to get them, than a human player, as they r better at planet colonisation.

This would force a player into making a strategic choice of what to do about it. Invade ASAP, befriend the race ie...alliance, try to buy the planet...etc...

Wheh, those bonus's would be more like cheats, 700% influence, approval, and economic bonus's, are simply unneccesary, the game would be waaaaaaaay to easy with those kind of tiles. Now I think that economic bonus tiles would be nice for some extra green to play with, but you don't need 700% bonus's.

You don't need 700% research or manufacturing either. We still want them though.

I agree about 700% manufacturing, but 700% research is amazing. Considering the fact that Bonus research (Ie research got from bonuses like starbase and mining ressources) is 2 times cheaper, getting a 700% research tile planet with 3-4 starbase can give you a fantastic and cheap research

...unless your adversaries hold these planets and eat you for lunch!

700% influence or economic bonus? Ouch! I really would not like to see such unbalancing items make it into the game. To be honest, the production bonus of 700% is bad enough, but at least it can be crippling economicly early on if not managed correctly. Actually, after the 1.3 patch, I haven't seen one but can imagine that production bonus might be even more cause for concern.

Seems the current modus operandi is to remove things from the game. I thought the idea was to add stuff to give the game more replay value. Silly me. I think they've hit the limit for sure. I would hate to see 700% bonus tiles go away. I just realized they removed the hyperdrive random event. That one increased the speed of your ships by 50% and it was one of my favorites. Sorry to see that one go. I wonder what they're plotting next

Hyperdrive? I just got it in the middle of a Metaverse game (my first one, and I still need to finish it), and it was called Ultradrive. It's being removed?

It might work if they restricted them like the Food bonuses. Those only go up to 300%.

With good reason - it'd likely be a pain to try to keep some semblance of Morale with 8x the food production from a farm. Best farm does about 10 food, right? That'd get up to 85 billion max pop. I don't want to think of how many VRCs need to be built to keep that even moderately content, let alone happy.

Unless I'm just a silly newb that lacks experience with high-pop planets, and others have been able to master Morale so that such a vast population on a single planet wouldn't be such a problem.

Since morale has been nerfed it is not economically feasable to have extreamely high pop planets. As it is now they can do away with the 300% farm tiles because they are useless. I like the thoughts of the OP but I do not see it hapening. Even at Maso the AI does a lousy job of getting planets and building on them.
