Don't Know If These Are Really Bugs, But...

I'm playing version 1.11 and note the following:
1) When I load the game it pops up an error message to the effect that I need to reset my monitor to 1024 by 768 in order to play. Then it goes ahead and loads the game correctly anyway. So why the error message?
2) These two are more like annoyances (to me) rather than bugs (I guess):
a) The minimap is way too small. I mean almost uselessly small. OK, I wear glasses, but still... Could it be enlargable? (Is that even a word?) I like this game, I just can't see it, is all.
b) When the minimap is at normal setting, you see on it where your main view is (the small blue box), i.e. you know where you are relative to the rest of the galaxy. So you zoom in 2 or 3 levels, do what you want to do and switch to another ship or planet --- but the blue box stays where it was and you don't have a clue what part of the galaxy you just switched to. The only way to find out is to zoom all the way out, then all the way back in. Hope I explained this correctly. Anyway, I'd like to be able to tell where I'm at when I switch to a new ship/planet, etc. No, I don't know how to do that, I'm just complaining.
3) "Follow Auto Pilot Ships" does not work on my computer. All I get is a brief glimpse of where it WAS. Where it went or what it saw along the way, I don't know.

By 1 I assume you're running your desktop at a resolution below 1024x768; in such a case the game will notify you of that (in the event you're running it below 1024x768 because that's all your system/display can do, so it's no mystery when the game fails).

2b is fixed in the 1.2 beta patches now available; the minimap will automatically snap to wherever the main view is.

2b) I wish this would be optional, I considered it a feature to keep the zoomed in minimap stay at a particular position and use it to direct my fleets from all over the galaxy to this certain point.

Darth, I do run the desktop below 1024x768 (so I can see it OK) but the machine is capable of 1280x1024. The game auto switches to 1024x768, so in my case, the warning seems useless; since the game knows it can switch to the higher resolution, why bother with the message? Oh, Oh! I'm being picky, huh? Sorry 'bout that. But Thanks!!! for the response.

have you tried using the zoom-out tactical map with the icons some of the time in place of the minimap - I find that its quite useful (for eg finding starbases etc), and I didnt even realize i could do it until recently
