Don't Know If These Are Really Bugs, But...

I'm playing version 1.11 and note the following:
1) When I load the game it pops up an error message to the effect that I need to reset my monitor to 1024 by 768 in order to play. Then it goes ahead and loads the game correctly anyway. So why the error message?
2) These two are more like annoyances (to me) rather than bugs (I guess):
a) The minimap is way too small. I mean almost uselessly small. OK, I wear glasses, but still... Could it be enlargable? (Is that even a word?) I like this game, I just can't see it, is all.
When the minimap is at normal setting, you see on it where your main view is (the small blue box), i.e. you know where you are relative to the rest of the galaxy. So you zoom in 2 or 3 levels, do what you want to do and switch to another ship or planet --- but the blue box stays where it was and you don't have a clue what part of the galaxy you just switched to. The only way to find out is to zoom all the way out, then all the way back in. Hope I explained this correctly. Anyway, I'd like to be able to tell where I'm at when I switch to a new ship/planet, etc. No, I don't know how to do that, I'm just complaining.
3) "Follow Auto Pilot Ships" does not work on my computer. All I get is a brief glimpse of where it WAS. Where it went or what it saw along the way, I don't know.
