Game crashing every 10 turns or so, help

It usually starts with the screen flickering, and ends with a This application must close, contact Microsoft, CTD

Have you updated your game and drivers? Did you check the sticky's for known issues/fixes? Video drivers must be current or you will probably have issues, and many motherboards and sound cards require updated drivers, too. If you've updated your drivers and still have a problem, post your debug.err file.

Flickering is usualy a symptom of video card overheat. See if there's any way for you to check your GPU temperature (NVidia has tools to do this, not sure about ATI)

i had similar problems...found that they are correct about having the latest drivers,,,also if you are overclocking it will crash.
after upgrading all drivers and resetting cpu clock,, the only problem i have is trying to find time at work to sleep cause i'm not getting to at home.. great game

Hmm, no overclocking. I guess Ill have to let my ATI cool down or lower the settings, its a Radeon 9600 pro

It is in your galciv2 folder; mine is at this path though yours might be different:

C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2
