Add.. add... addictive!

Arrrg, I barely played for 1 day (counting when I accidently stood awake to 4 A.M.), and I can't get ennough of it...

for me it's the ship designer.
I keep telling myself, it's just a transport, I do not need it to look cool, I do not need it to look cool ...
20 minutes later, I have a new transport ... and it looks cool.
heh, most addictive feature ever. It's funny how much more attached you get to your ships too, rdally enhances the overall experience in the game. A lot more than the designer did in Alpa Centauri too. The ability to custom configure the gfx as opposed to just plopping down modules on stock hulls is great, really makes a big difference.

yeah, this week has been hell.
I haven't gotten to sleep before 1 am any night since the game came out.
I got home yesterday and loaded it up right after work, just to spend "a few minutes" taking a look at the new collector's edition ship parts... 2 hours later, I was halfway through a game I never intended to start.
I finally tore myself away and made dinner... then came back, and decided to take my time to create a custom race and game, and then save it so I could just jump right in this weekend... 3 hours later, I was well on my way to victory.

there hasn't been a game that's done this to me since Civ 2.

Totally agree. I've been like a junkie all day at work waiting to go home and continue my domination of the galaxy. Sounds pathetic but this game is just plain fun. I've completely forgotten about Civ 4.

THANK YOU STARDOCK!

I couldn't agree more! I've already got stories to tell about ships - my ships. It adds so much of a connection, and makes it very personal, when it's your own craft out there blowing the Drengin to smithereens. To keep it brief, I was fighting the Drengin, and hadn't got much capable firepower - the rest of the galaxy had fallen to them quickly. Then I went to the shipyard and created the Knight class, which served me well on the defense, which worked well as my research far outstripped the enemy's.

Later, once I had some better techs, I went back and made the Tyrant class. Now these were bad boys, armed to the teeth, capable of taking punishment, and generally the very tool I needed to conquer the galaxy. Which I did, in short order.

<3 the ship builder.

I'm enjoying this more than I did for GC1.
Thats really saying something there, considering I played that for days on end. The ship designer just adds layers of addictive quality, so much that its more than most realise.
Just wish you had a few options on gun placement, e.g. if the gun looked nicer with the 'muzzle' part sticking out of a particular module, rather than a large 'turret' thing. Sure, it may not be as practical as a gimble-mounted gun, but it sure can look cool.

And the worse is, the more I use the designer, the more my ships look cool... NOOO! HAVE... TO... STUDY... FOR... COLLEGE...!

(Is it normal that at my first game (beginner) I wiped out 5 computer player with extreme ease?)

I don't know why, but the message, when you wanna quit the game, is just... suggestive.. a few more won't hurt.. a few more.. a few more... one more..

Playing GC2 is a life changing experience. My room is a mess,my car is a mess and my clothes and me smell about the same right now,and I never knew that microwave popcorn was on the food pyramid. But no joke when I come into the room my cat now sits on my computer chair before I can sit down so I will pay attention to him instead of playing.
Stardock needs tp put sleep algorithms in the AI just to make it fair!
