Tutorials aren't all there.

In the tutorials file, the tutorials jump from #14 (Starbases), to #20 (Invasions). Are these files supposed to skip like this, or did my download goof up?

As far as I know, we skipped.

Ok, thats fine if you did, I just wasn't looking forward to having to re-dl it.

The 1 and 2 are categorical identifiers, like how episode 104 is the fourth episode in the first season of a show, as opposed to being the actual 104th episode. I figured they were seperated like that, because they deal with management, and combat tutorials.

Ummm...where are you guys downloading these tutorials from. I can't seem to find any. Are these seperate downloads or something you find in the preload?

Under your GalCiv 2 directory: -> gfx -> Tutorials open the Bink Video files.

Did you download them? Note that you can expand the GalCiv 2 item in Stardock Central using the small "+" button to its left. Then you'll find the tutorials, movies and multimedia. Having done so, you'll be able to view them with a .bik viewer just as Geckomind explained.

Is there a way to download the tutorials without pre-downloading the game from stardock?

How does one go about getting these files to play?

You need to find and download Rad Video Tools to play them, as they are in bink format.

Well what about my question?

Well what about my question?

That would be a "no", sorry. I think someone asked this before (just after we figured out the preload made them available ) and one of the Stardock staff responded that it wasn't possible to get them separately.

I don't know if there are any plans to make them available separately in the future, but at least for the moment the answer is a definite no.

Sorry.

If you need some video goodness to tide you over, have you seen the gameplay video that Brad posted a couple days ago: https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=101010 It covers some of the same ground as a couple of the tutorials, and even has Brad doing the voiceover work himself.

Hey...if I've taken the time to registar on these forums...don't you think I've already watch that? I'm tempted to preload the game just so I can watch the tutorials, but I really should since I'm probably getting this game for my birthday.
