Feedback= 0.0

I get as much as no response at all from the authors from the objects/widgets in their individual "comments" section. Even if these objects/widgets don't work at all and I don't seem to be the only one left on his own. I suggest the autors should spend more time on feedback instead of creating way too much objects/widgets.....So the time spent on creating new stuff should better be spent on feedback.

Well maybe if I would get comments I would give feedback. Did you download the CG Shark from the widgets section? At last check 110 people downloaded it with not a single comment or rating. I think people should spend more time on commenting with some sort of detail and rating.

GuyWinC... if people don't want to provide support for their freely shared uploads, there's not much that can be done about it.

I agree that there's not much that can be done about it and true we all should be gratefull. In fact any feedback or support has nothing to do with it being freeware or shareware often even with shareware there's also no feedback or support. But even so a bad working product is worse than none at all. Remains the question why developping so much ? Take a look at the Widget "Core Calendar" several people complaining (and I) that it isn't working at all > it gives the wrong day of the week (the other probabilly deleting it right away), and the author fully aware still's keeping it on the website and not responding at all....well since two weeks "only"...
And perhaps you're right also we don't give enough positive feedback maybe that could be the reason why the authors think they need to develop another variant.. ha ha ha. This being said I'll start right away giving more positive comments..

That's interesting... I've been using Core Calendar for a few days now, and it works fine.

Dreandesign3d.... better get use to the lack of feedback. I have things with well over a thousand downloads, that have never been rated, and have no comments.

Does it bother you, Koasati, that you have no comments & no ratings on certain skins you've created?? Are you comfortable with the lack of these two things? Especially since you spent lots of time creating them. Would you be satisfied with lots of downloads in lieu of not having a rating or comment? I'm just curious.

Does it bother me? Depends on my mood I guess........... mostly no, it doesn't bother me, maybe a little.
It's nice to know what people think, but the bottom line is, if I'm pleased enough to upload a skin, I'm happy with it, and that's what really counts.

I admit that I'm guilty of rarely posing comments. A lot of the stuff I've downloaded are really cool but I feel it's unfair to comment before I've used it for awhile. Buy then I've lost attenti . . . what a cool background. Did I mention ADHD?

What was the topic again?

@ Garry...

I endeavour to leave a comment on every skin or wall I download. I think it's only fair to thank the author for their good work, knowing how much time and effort goes into each job.

And I'll admit of being one who hardly ever updates his things. I spend sometimes so much time working on something to get it to work the way I want it to work (on my computer at least), that when I finally upload it, it's like a relief, and it's a pain to even consider opening that project again.
The way I see it is, it worked for me, then it probably works for some people. For those for whom it doesn't work, well that's too bad, they don't have to use it...

I agree 100%. There's so much time & effort involved in creating a given skin, that it's only right to show the skinner my appreciation.

On the other hand, if I download a skin I come to find I don't like, then that's MY fault - NOT the skinners. I refuse to leave a mean comment simply because I didn't care for their theme, that would be just plain cruel & totally uncalled for. Noone can create a skin that *everybody* likes.

I also think that anyone who has the privilege to rate skins should do so. Any rating I give a skinner is from the heart, and not the real McCoy.

i've been using the core calendar since the day it was released and have never had any issues with it. maybe i'm lucky in that regard. actually, i've used core calendar, core weather, and the core to-do list widgets/objects since they were released.

Seems (that is according to the comments) that it gives only problems for non U.S. residents. Strange.....

Just checked it once more to be o/t safe side. All the other and the internal calendar on my PC say that it's Sat 27th Nov. but the Core Calendar keeps saying november 27 2004 "THURSDAY".

This sums my view up here. If you're happy, that's all ya really need. It's nice to know how the skin "performs" for sure, but knowing I [we] skin voluntarily it's a small price.
