Object Dock - newbie learning the ropes

1. I'd like to be able to directly 'explore' my hard-drive in the way that 'right click on the START button does things'. Can I make an 'explore' button on the Object dock?

2. How do I use the animation icons? I'd like, for example, to use the animated WinConfigure and Musicmatch icons that I have downloaded but can't seem to get working. I put them in my animations folder and they don't seem to come out.

I am clearly incredibly stupid. I've downloaded a string of icons. How do I access them? I thought I simply unzip them into the LaST folder but that doesn't do the trick.

When the Choose Image browser opens up, but it's only showing you the icons from the OD+ sub-folder that the current icon is coming from. Click on the Images button to show all the images that are available

Drag a copy of Windows Explorer on to your dock.

I have unzipped the contents of various animaed icon packages into my docklets/animations directory. When I that icon, I get a garbled pic. This happens with all the animations I try.

Regarding windows explorer, I've searched my hard-drive and can't quite find a prog with an appropriate sounding title. Where does windows keep explorer (as opposed to internet explorer).

Startmenu - All Programs - Accessories is the default place where XP put's the shortcut, otherwise go to C:\Windows and look for "explorer" (Which is an Explorer command) not "explorer.exe" (Which is the explorer application) and create a shortcut to it.

Sorry don't know anything about the animated icons, it sounds like your putting them in the right section. I'm still pretty new to OD+, I never used the free version, but maybe the animations only work on a dock without tabs.

You need to have the Animated Shortcut docklet to make it work....search the OD library for it.

I'm more and more getting into Object Dock - love customizing it. I'm interested in upgrading to the Plus version. The major concern for me is that it seems to crash my system on a reasonably regular basis. I've tried hard to narrow down when it crashes and I am not able to replicate any one event. However, I note that crashes tend to be more slightly more frequent when:

i) I have WinMX running and I attempt to play partially downloaded mpegs through WinMX
ii) I attempt to change the icon for the recycle bin.

These two events do not strike me as particularly unusual and hence I'm sure there's a more underlying reason as to the nature of my crashes. Are other people finding Object Dock perfectly stable? I note that the plus version is in Beta mode, is the free version Beta as well?

Kind regards to the veterans,
Andrew
