right now I hate icons and anything to do with them

especially icon packager. I have spent the last 2 and a half hours trying to get 1 (one), a single theme, to work. yes one. First I was making mattahan's umicons into an iconpack because I didn't like they way the one here was done. so after an hour of that and almost all the way through, iconpackager decides to delete the whole thing (I had saved it five times before then but that didn't matter). That made me mad. So I went on here and downloaded the umicons package again (I had deleted it). I installed it and it worked. So I went about my business changing it a little to suit my tastes. then bam that one gets destroyed. and not only that it won't let me install it again. That last part has made me furious. My frustration is so enormous that I just had to vent it out here. Stardock will be getting a bug report.

Travis.........now you will understand the problems that i had with the two iCandy Junior packages recently. At one stage i very nearly gave up as i was so fed up with the software problems that i was encountering. It took me about 7 goes from scratch to get the blue version to settle down and about the same on the yellow version. I have spent hours and hours of my time to get those packages to behave. Have you seen my workaround on the comments of the yellow version? I have emailed Stardock on several occassions and i have been very patient due to the server problems but to date i have not received reply but that is not a problem as i know Angie and the rest of the crew there are extremely busy with more important matters. They are aware of these issues and i know they will be doing there best to sort them but right now they need a bit of breathing space.

I do understand, I do.

but I have finally got it to work:) what I had to do was put all of the icons that I was going to use into the theme's folder. Then once I got through changing everything I pressed apply, saved, then saved as a zip. then I moved the zip to a safe place. took all of the icons that I put in there extra and put them back where I had them before (in my apply named super-humungous icon folder). then I deleted the theme from inside iconpackager. Turned off iconpackager. opened up the zip that I made before and installed it. now everything is working smoothly. I only went through the extra steps because I did not feel like having all of the icons so buried away on my computer, and I found if I moved or deleted them iconpackager went crazy.

Problems have more to do with Windows than IP. All IP does is tell Windows through the registry what icon represents what. Heavy customisation of icons can confuse Windows and muck up the icon cache, also problems if the cache is too small. I used to run into problems when using Microangelo too.
