Windows+D with Fences = No return to Desktop

Good evening,

I bought Start11 that I use on the daily and I recently downloaded the free trial version of Fences.

I have one issue though. I like Fences' Windows+D feature's reactivity, I can sense it's supposed to get you to your desktop much faster than Windows' original functionality.

However that's just an impression, because in practice when for instance I'm in a video game and press Windows+D through Fences' feature, only my taskbar shows up and nothing else, and not my entire desktop as it's supposed to.

As I said I'm using Start11 and thus I customized my taskbar, perhaps that's the reason of my issue:

Thank you

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know you on Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version number. Use Winver.exe to get the full Windows version number.

Thanks

PrakoRaldo, unlike what you reported, with Fences Win+D totally disabled in Fences, I was seeing what you were with it enabled, just the taskbar (in other words, just the opposite of you if I read your issue correctly)

However, with it enabled, while I could see the desktop, I could not see the taskbar (TB).  If I WinKey to open the start menu, I could then see it but if I clicked the desktop, it would vanish again.

While the TB being absent initially is not ideal, this would showcase it working.

That said, Basj was able to repo it with a different game on a secondary monitor.

This makes me wonder; is it something about a particular app \ game?  Have you tried on a different monitor? Have you tried 'full screen borderless window' for any game you see this with instead of 'full screen;?

This happened to me too, after I upgraded to Fences 4 from Fences 3. "Upgrade Windows' Show Desktop functionality" was disabled by default, and that broke Win+D completely. I enabled it, and it shows the desktop now. But this is a bug, because you shouldn't have to "upgrade functionality" in Fences for Win+D to work.

This happened with me with a game on a non-primary monitor.

I can't comment on the taskbar issue, since my taskbar is set to auto-hide so it's not visible either way.

Hope this helps.

WinKey + D does work with it the Fences options for it disabled:

If its not for you, perhaps a purge \ reinstall is in order:
