Cannot Engage Issue Under 1.60.457293.1

I am engaged in a rousing battle with the Arceans.  As shown in the screen snapshot below, I was trying to use a missle attack agains the Arcean fleet of 57 ships when I got the message "Cannot be engaged in battle".  Given that I was not trying to marry them, I am assuming that the message means that I cannot attack them.  Why not?  Is it because the game thinks that I am trying to attack the exclamation point icon instead of the fleet that is underneath it?

Just load the saved game then go to the planet named Misam V and you should see what is in the screen snapshot below.

Yeah this has been going on for a while. What is worse is that icon sticks around for a few turns. This icon should disappear after you right click the event in the notifications area or after the turn.

Another possibility to look at is to have an option to toggle battle result icons on and off.  That way, players can turn them off to do what they want to do, then turn them back on.

The problem occurs when the icon is not the only object in the cell.  The program currently looks at the icon as the topmost item that receives the mouse clicks.  Therefore, another possible solution would be to cycle through the objects in the cell similar to how players can cycle through ships and fleets on a Subspace Gate by repeatedly clicking on the stack.

I know with the cheat console you can click on the tile cancel out of battle viewer and type destroy to eliminate the icon. So yes it when it's the top most icon.
