Another Message That Makes You Say "WHAAAAAT"?

I was looking at recruiting a new leader and I was looking at each of their special features when I came across the one in the screen snapshot below.  The thing to notice is that the popup says "Lower Recruit cost", but when you look at the cost of all of the available leaders, that one is the most expensive!

I am submitting this as another one of those head-scratchers where what a message says is completely at odds with reality.

That definitely seems a bit odd, unless that recruits cost was even higher before? Have you noticed any other examples of this?

Is it claiming Matthew is cheap because of the total value of his attributes? He totals 31, Caelum totals 27 and Danny and the Drengin-looking character both total 20.

Yeah, that strikes me as less a case of the message being wrong as one of "they would have been even more expensive without this".

Still, maybe "Lowered Recruit cost" would be better?

I've been wondering about this for a bit now, and I'll be discussing this with the team, but I think Syrris is right where its more a contextual thing and "Lowered" would be better wording

I think you need to start with how the "price" of an available leader is set in the first place.  Clearly, it cannot be just based on the sum of the attributes since the second and fourth leaders both had attributes totalling 20, but the second leader had a "price" of 267 while the fourth leader had a price of 373.  Do the other capabilities of the leaders also play into the "price"?  If so, how?

Whatever the answer, the bottom line is that what the players see must make intuitive sense or be explainable mathematically.

Here is another strange price for a leader.  Notice how the third leader (Jeffrey Lis) costs 1253 credits.  Why???

Im noticing more icons by his portrait, may I ask what abilities he has if any?

I do not remember what the bottom 2 were for (he is gone now), but the top one was completing the current technological research. Regardless of what benefits the icons granted the leader, the price is ridiculously high.  I have been playing GalCiv4 for a long time and I have never seen a leader with this high of a cost.  It would be interesting if the devs would explain how the costs for leaders are set.

Agree with Paul here never seen a leader that high usually with the "finish tech" ability they would be at most 300 points more than your other leaders say 653 in this case.
