I’ve been running ObjectDock for many years. It does what I need without being too complicated.
Around 5 years ago I upgraded to a larger SSD drive for my Win 8.1 C: drive, the previous C: drive being re-designated as the D: drive. ObjectDock was then re-installed on the new C: drive.
Last week, I cleared old and/or duplicate files from that D: drive. Since then, on Start-up, OD has asked for a file on the D: drive, failing because that file is no longer there. [Screenshot attached.]
- Skin loading failed: Could not find a part of the path ‘D:\Program files(x86)\ObjectDock\Skin\Tray.
- ObjectDock’s integrity has been compromised. Please reinstall ObjectDock.
I’ve done that reinstall multiple times since, using both my original file and a freshly downloaded file, but it still keeps asking for that Tray file on D:. If I uninstall via Control Panel and then reinstall, it works fine … until the next pc restart when it again asks for the missing file.
How do I re-set it so that it points to the current install files and not that old file from the original installation? (I think I may have had to use a Purge tool in the past, but expect the one I had is now out of date. If I have to do that again, will that also delete all my current Docks & Icons/shortcuts?)
If so, can you remind me how to do a backup of ObjectDock please, so that I retain my current Docks and Icons/shortcuts? It may sound a basic or dumb question, but OD has run smoothly for years so I’ve forgotten some of these things!
