Firstly I have a high end PC -
OS: Windows 10 Pro
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700k Kaby Lake
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
SSD: 2x Samsung 850 EVO 2TB
Monitor: Viewsonic XG2703-GS 165hz G Sync Gaming Monitor
Now, I haven't played much of GC3. A few months back I gave it a whirl (when Crusade was just released) and played it for nearly an hour. It ran amazingly, over 150fps and it was super smooth. However, I had other games to complete so I wanted to come back to GC3 later.
I finally came back to it this evening and I have been trying to play it and now it runs like garbage. All the usual vsync on/off, various refresh rates/resolutions, it makes no difference. Even setting the lowest graphic settings and resolution ingame makes no difference. I tried installing it on both SSD's I have. I have reinstalled my OS and the drivers and tried every setting I can think of in my 25 years pc gaming experience, but nothing makes a difference.
It runs at a sloppy/stuttery 60/65 fps in game. It has never gone higher than that and I don't know what it is. Something is holding it back and it is not my hardware. Is it a setting? I just don't know,I have tried everything I can think of. All my other games are fine. Is it a recent patch causing it and is everyone getting this low framerate now? I am losing 100fps for some reason which is a huge loss. Something is choking the game and I can't find the solution.
I am completely out of ideas now so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I literaly can't play it the way it is. It is looking like my time with this game is over before it has even started.
Thanks in advance.
