every time i create a custom race i get the same robot movie...the only way to fix this is redo my whole race in xml or redo my entire race using a standard race and edit it...ive already made 13 races and dont have time to redo all of them..is there any quick xml fix i can do?
Do you mean the robot advisor? I am not entirely sure what you are refering to.
yes..there are different color and shape ones for standard game races..but when you create a new race from scratch im stuck with the same blue and white robot..any way to change this..
The New Eden mod changed it to the human scientist for all it's custom races. It's been done before, but I believe this requires you to make your race a mod. You could dig into that mod and see how he achieved it, or dig through the default race files to see where it specifies this.
The following 2 lines in FactionDefs.xml control which research adviser you see in the game.
<NewsRobotMovie_Approach>Terran_ResearchAdviser_Approach.bk2</NewsRobotMovie_Approach>
<NewsRobotMovie_Idle>Terran_ResearchAdviser_Idle.bk2</NewsRobotMovie_Idle>
Unfortunately I don't know of a way for you to change it with the in-game race designer.
