Windows is hosed, need help with re-install

Stardock Central -> Settings -> File Locations - defaults to Users/user/Downloads/Stardock.  Skins are in the same folder here.

I found the WB skins folder (and my OD settings files), but I never installed anything with Stardock Central, everything was installed with Impulse.  The only thing listed in there is OD+ and something else I never used, can't remember what it was.

Now that I found the themes folders I just need access to the Windowblinds installer.

Some tabbed docks, if you were using those with custom plus/minus images, and all the running indicators for OD will be in the OD Program Files They don't get put into Public Docs or they don't work, or can't be seen by OD anyway.

BTW, Bebi, you can do a Non-destructive reinstall of Win 7 without losing a thing. LINK

I was going to, but it says to run it while Windows is running, and I can't even get it to boot up, keeps kicking me to the repair thingie. Plus I need a disc with SP1. I should probably do a clean install anyway because I was getting NTFS errors.

Yep tried that, stepped away and when i came back it was right back at the system repair screen, guess it didnt work.

NTFS errors and an image that won't restore sounds like you have some issues with your drive/cable/mb. You may be spinning your wheels if you don't ID the problem first.

My bf has some spare harddrives and we're gonna install on one of those insead.

Just wonder , have you run your os disc with the repair my computer function? Sounds like corrupted boot files, startup repair will usually fix this, can run you through the process if you need help . I wish you luck however you approach the repair. Also, a new install will put all of your existing install in a folder called windows old for access to files and such for safe keeping.Not if you format the drive though!

Did the startup repair about 5 times, still wouldn't boot. Even after attempting to restore a system image is still booted into the startup repair. Hopefully a clean install on a new drive will help, but man I hate re-installing. >_<

My bf is a computer tech for a living, so he's gonna get it fixed up...still can't figure out what happened though. Did windows update, rebooted, and bam, startup repair hell.

Don't reinstall....not until ALL other options are tried.

That's why we're going to use a new drive and leave the original as it is, hopefully we can figure it out. Using linux we could access the drive and files just fine, but something is definitely wrong with Windows.
