Well, it's not really a new public release. It's primarily for testing. Plugins are disabled at the moment and other things may not work perfectly either. Also, this build does not include a setup routine and there are instructions for installing it that must be followed carefully. If you're a skin designer and want to prepare skins for the next public release, then consider yourself warned and try it out. If you are a user just looking for a new build, you should wait until a real public release comes out.

I will say however, there are massive improvments here and it is remarkably faster. In fact, in seems to have zero impact on performance. Very impressive.

the older builds were really impossible to enjoy (really hung up my device anyways) but I kept trying out the pocketblinds cuz some were alittle too tempting!

/me runs to install this latest build... thanks for post

nevermind
Beware:
PocketPC 2k owners: The menubar may not be skinned correctly on the today screen. This should be fixed this evening.
Advanced tab of configuration is not fleshed out(apart from run on startup). Sorry, will get to it soon.
PPC2002 Notification support not in.

Doreen that was posted 06/19/2002 ago. I run PocketPC 2K and the new build runs great. I've had no problems at all. In fact it runs way better than build RC7. Really fast.

okay me goes to give it a shot... Thanks jarget
I've had probs w/ my "okay/close button" dissapearing in RC7 which leaves me stranded and having to do soft resets to get it back (sometimes takes 2-3 soft resets!)
maybe this build will resolve that too?

oh yessssss! and it skins the items in the lower task bar! but still I lost my ok/close button
I need to reset this and play around w/ it some more to see the changes, are you losing your okay button at all? what is causing this?

nope
my okay button will not appear when I run PB at all, could be my device (3800) shoot!
but everything else looks sharp the other build would not let me skin the bottom task bar at all or enter bullets in the Advanced options for some reason.

The ok/close buttons, like the clock, are plugins, which are disabled in this build. Hint: you can say OK to a window by pushing the action button on your device.

The advanced options are not functional yet.

Tool button skinning is new beginning with this build. Skins that do not supply a bitmap for tool buttons will default to using the regular button image, which may not look ideal.

strange on RC7 I could not select an advanced option on this latest build I can it lets me, and yes I did over ride the file correctly during installation & stick the .dll in windows etc etc...

the okay button gives me probs in RC7 as well & I have to have my ok button or I cannot function w/o it... hehe

anyways, when will the Scrolls be skinned? Do you know?

Doreen The code changed a bit. If you want I can send you a skin for you to try out. I'm in the process of changing all my skins. When I installed the new build I had the same poblem until I figured it out. E-mail if you want.

correction this build lets me place bullets in the advanced options but nothing changes, on RC7 the advanced options are off limits (they will not allow me to select anything) but on RC7 my lower task bar "keyboard & new" buttons do not get skinned but on this latest build they do get skinned...

anyways I will wait for that okay button, I'm a creature of habit and need that I very rarely use any of the hardware buttons to move around (yes I'm a freak and prob the only one) I only use the stylus I forget the hardware buttons are even there

Doreen: I have one PB skin here that uses no plugins. It may not be your style, but the OK button should work fine. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=5&SkinID=28

jarget: Have you uploaded any PB skins here? I'd love to see them. Sometimes I think I'm the only one making skins for PocketBlinds.

okay yes please do send me your skin to try, but I'm confused, he just said the okay button is considered to be a plug in???? I can see the "clock & volumn" being considered a plug in the but the okay button is a necessity (atleast for me)
but what do I know I always thought the plug ins were frills not necessities? hehe

Mike the prob is after I select your skin I cannot select OK to set it! hehe

which hardware button are you telling me that has the same action as okay? can you please tell me? Thanks
Reply #16 Top
nevermind I got it to set but the okay button is still disabled Mike even w/ your skin
