[Suggestion] There HAS to be a Brax and Bahgtru

For those of us who remember Master of Magic, there should be a little inside joke with "Brax the Dwarf" and "Bahgtru the Orc Warrior" champions!

I always hated it when I got Bahgtru as my first champion.  Brax was better.

Why?

Who are you asking why to?

I think you Mean Xarb the Farmer and Tragbuh the Mage. In any case I don't think this is going to happen. While I highly prefer static and intelligently designed champions, I'm fairly certain the whole random levelup thing is here to stay.

I wish Stardock would have never mentioned MoM in regards to Elemental.  I am sick and tired of hearing about that old ass game.

I liked Bahgtru & Gunthor with axes.  Brax I can live without.

It wouldn't have mattered if they mentioned it or not. Master of Magic is the basis for comparison withe every fantasy turn-based game. When you look at Age of Wonders you don't see a turn based strategy game, you see how it compared to master of magic. The same is true for Europa Universalis. While the underlying elments between that game and civ are far appart the game still comes up in comparison.

If this was a space aged strategy game it would be compared to master of orion. These were old games that were very well done and have set the standard for every future turn based game of a similar genre. In fact Age of Wonders was used as a comparison to how sovereigns could cast spells from their tower back when War of Magic was initially released.

People love making comparisons. It's fun and easy, and often provides insight to future development ^^

I hear the lament of a person too young to have wasted entire summers to Masters of Magic.

There has yet to be a game in this style that comes close to capturing all the elements that MoM did at the same time.

I think I was 14 when it came out.  It was another game.  There were others I liked more, and others I liked less.  But like many games that came out 15-20 years ago, it's now immortalized in memory and looked at through rose tinted glasses.  What the game actually is and the game you remember are very different things. No matter how good FE becomes, it will be compared to this mythical game.  And I mean myth, as in more fairy tale than fact.

There are games from that era that I think were great still, sure.  But I also recognize that they are terribly flawed and if the exact game was remade with the same graphics, I would probably be disappointed.  Some people argue that the game should be exactly like MoM, or do things because MoM did them.  I say, "Fuck MoM" and let Brad and Kael make their own great game.

"Fuck MoM" huh? Is she good lookin'?

And does she have a great personality too? ;-)  Btw: in Australia we don't have "mom"s we have "mum"s. ;-)

Either way, she's a good lay.

I wish Stardock would have never opened these forums.  I am sick and tired of hearing about that old ass Xia guy.

Not that it matters what he says anyway. Just saying

Yeah, sometimes he expresses himself crudely, but his post on researching larger troop sizes was priceless!
