OK, if someone has downloaded the 1.09n beta, but wants to go back to 1.09E, can this be done without a reinstall?

I'm quite content beta-testing the 1.09n patch.

However, I've seen a few mentions of some people becoming a little frustrated with crashes, broken game mechanics, etc. and who might want to play with 1.09E again for a bit while we wait for 1.1.

Plus, we might have a person or two who accidentally install 1.09n, if their Impulse is set to show beta patches.

Is there a way to do this through Impulse?  Which doesn't involve a full reinstall?

Note that you can turn off the 'show beta patches' feature in Impulse, which would then make 1.09E show up in the update window, so you could do a full reinstall and then install 1.09E.

Good question. I'd like to know. I'm working on a spell mod right now in 1.09n but would like to go back to 1.09e at some point to test it on that. I figured I would have to reinstall but would be nice if there were a "reverse patch." I doubt there is, but good idea.

Theoretically you should be able to disable prerelease, shift-right click the game and verify, but I'm not certain if that'll remove any additional files that were added so you could wind up with a hybrid as far as XML goes. If there aren't any added files though it should fully replace any that are different.

I tried this.  Didn't work.  I turned off pre-release versions from preferences, clicked "verify" for Elemental, and it said the version 1.09n was installed properly.

You have to shift rt-click after deselecting pre-release versions.    It should tell you to install an update which will get you back to 1.09 e.

I did shift rt-click and selected verify with pre-release versions turned off.  It said version 1.09n was installed properly.  Moot point now, I already re-installed.
