[Suggestion] More Options Regarding Maps

I've been playing around with the modding tools, re-starting the map generator to try and find something that would be 'perfect' to work on. Nothing really works, and then I realized that when it came to options for making a map, the game offered us little. I don't mean the MODDING aspect, but the non-modding aspect, for those of us who want to play on a random map. I doubt that most people actually want to make their own maps each time they want to play a new Elemental game.

What I'm proposing, then, is just a little bit more in the way of options for making a random map. A few more options that the AI takes into account when a mod is made.

  • Landmass - A slider that moves the amount of land vs. water back and forth. Want big continents separated by small seas, or small wanna-be islands dotting an ocean? Choice is now yours.
  • Resources - Plenty of resources in-game. Want there to be a ton of resources, making influence slightly expendable? Or perhaps very few resources, making each one too valuable to risk losing?
  • Spawns - Lots of little critters wandering the map, or none?
  • Champions - Want a game that is wholly family, or instead play around with dozens of heroes?

Just a few things that makes it more fun to get a random map tailored closely to what a player is in the mood to play.

I always assumed at least some of this was coming but if they are not then please add these in before (or soon after) release.  I'd also like to see some options for terrain.  Land roughness, how dry the world is (effects number of forests, deserts, rivers, etc), stuff like that.

I assumed it would be in, too. Never hurts to just say it in case.

I know that Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic didn't have something to this degree. It wasn't a MAJOR disappointment, but...still, something as to greater customization would've been welcomed.

I'd venture a guess that 75% of my games would be randomized games.  Assuming of course, the randomization works and offers up variety.

Needless to say, a very important feature.
