I can never play. Simple as that. I log in, and try to play Pantheon games, but after 20 minutes of nothing happening, I give up and go play something else. Usually what happens is "The matchmaking service has failed" or I cannot connect to someone, or someone else cannot connect to another person, etc. So you hit cancel and try again, and again, and again and oops the game crashed and I have to alt-ctrl-delete and end it, and then reload it and try again.
After working all day, who wants to spend their free time dealing with that? And it is too bad, as originally I was able to get into the odd game. Most were 1v2 or 1v1 or 2v2 ai or some mix, but now, after those last two updates, I cannot even get into a single game unless its filled with ai, which I believe happened once.
I cannot forward ports, I have no control over opening ports or closing ports. My ISP handles that, and I require a user name/ password to edit these settings, which I do not have. Before Demigod came along this was never a problem. I have been with this ISP for years, and this is the first game that has caused me such grief. Whether it's my ports or the game I am not sure, so I do not want to point blame at anyone. I am just saying that I imagine because I am experiencing this problem, many other people are to. Who wants to play when you have to deal with that? There are a plethora of other gaming options available where one does not have to deal with this.
The kicker for me, the reason why I stick around and keep trying to play, is that I enjoy the game and really want to play, I just can't.
