Customer .desktop files not found in "Themes" folder

"Load Desktop" finds them

Created a desktop theme and saved it.  Using Windows Explorer and browsing to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Themes, I do not find my .desktop file.

When I use "Load Desktop", my theme is listed; when I "Save Desktop As...", the save dialog box shows the path as listed above and I get a successful save, but no file.

Where is it?

Thanks and happy holidays

David

Sounds stupid, but it's probably being saved as ".dxtheme".  Is that screwing you up?

If you're on Vista, it might get re-routed, not sure.

You could always try doing an Explorer search of [YourThemeName].*

yeah, that's what's weird...I did do a complete system search for it, wasn't there.  But the DX load command finds it just fine.  DX shows it to be in the path I listed, with a .desktop extension

Wow...ok I found it.  Here is the address from the search results:

C:\Users\*********\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Themes

If I "Open File Location" it opens up to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX\Themes

That is completely off the wall and really should be fixed by Stardock.

It is a Vista thing - the way it the OS works. Program Files at root level and at User level.

Vista has Program Files and ProgramData folders as well. Somethings duplicated, somethings not where expected based on XP experience.

Resave it again to the folder you want it to be in to be sure.

I have tried saving it many times in many ways |-)   I was always using the DX Builder app to do so.  After i found it in that virtual folder, I just moved it to where it was supposed to be.
