Reinstalling after System recovery. still have old folders and all my d/led content should I backup?

I had to do a system recvery- I still have al of my stardock products on my system (just not able  to run them) I am going to be redownloading but I could not find any reference to having to backup any content that I downloded. (suites, exit screens, themes, cursors)

I do not want to reinstall without knowing if I need to backup.

also- I have a couple puters and wanted to d/l it to my other system (I saw online that there was no problem with that) I was just wondering if

the d/l link would expire after I d/l them.

Thanks

It's a good idea to back up your content. You may find that an artist has pulled some particular skin that you've got for whatever reason.

Only 1 copy of the product can be used at once per license. But if you want to have it on both home and work or install it on the road that is not only allowed but recommended. As long as only one copy is actively in use (someone sitting at the computer) at any one time, you are covered.

I strongly suggest that you go through your Stardock product folders such as Icon Packager, WindowBlinds, ObjectDock and DesktopX, and save your downloaded skin folders to another drive like an external USB or even copy them to a DVD!

With all of your skins backed up, you can literaly blow your system off, reinstall your operating system and then reinstall your Stardock products clean from Impulse.

Once you verify that all your Stardock applications are running like they're suppose to, simply copy your saved skins back to their respective skin folders.

Other wise, you'll have to download your skins, widgets and gadgets all over again if your decision is to wipe your system.

I just recently went through a serious CRASH on my XP box and having my skins backed up to my 500GB external USB drive saved me a ton of grief.  Not to mention it only took a couple of days to get everything right rather than weeks!

Hope this help you some and good luck!
