How well you think it will work?

Been reading your forums after searching for a week or so and I found this game. I want to thank everyone for getting me addicted to reading these boards. Just curious as to player feedback for system specs and how well everything is running and how high graphics are setup.

I'm running AMD Athlon 3500 x64 single core Gforce 8600 GT OC 1 gig ddr ram and 80 gig WD hard drive spec edition back in the day of 2002. Anyone able to give me feed back on as to how high my settings might be able to go? Also if people can post what it takes to turn up the settings all the way so I need to know how much money to save to get my pc up to par. Thanks

Running an AMD X2 3800+, ATI x1950 Pro and 2GB DDR2-667 on Windows XP Home and i have to say it runs extremely nice at 1400x1050 with graphics at High (and specials at Very High) with Effects all turned on except Bloom.

Only "slowdown" i've noticed sofar is actually in the main menu while its zooming from planet to planet as you click through options. If it passes the star it stutters just a tiny bit. But ingame no stutter is evident, not even in the thick of combat.

I hear it can get hairy late game in the really large star clusters from the Beta 4, I wonder if that was resolved in the release.

God can't wait to get home. How long does it take to download. Well how big is the file anyway that would be more accurate since i know my dl speeds and you guys dont.

Total download size is around a Gigabyte according to a Dev in another thread. Download speeds were incredible. (was running the maximum speed for my connection almost continually) Started fluctuating about 70-80 percent in, but i guess that was just the extreme amount of people logging on and starting downloading. :)
