Armageddon Empires

Hiya,

While I still enjoy all the Galcivs and am eagerly awaiting the full release of TA and Sins of a Solar Empire, I've come across an excellent turn based strategy game from Cryptic Comet.

Armageddon Empires is very much like the old hex-board games with some nifty card units thrown in. It recieved a great review over at The Wargamer, and was developed by a independent developer. I tried the demo and had to buy it (30 bucks). Check it out if such things interest you.

The game's creator, Vic Davis, is readily accesible on the Wargamer forums for Cryptic Comet, and responds readily to most posts. Here's someone, like Brad and Stardock, who are into their game for the love of gaming and eagerly listens to the player feedback.

Here's a link.

Looks quite interesting. If you are into space management games you should try 'Space Force Captains' by JoWood. In some respects it even better than TA! Not in all of them though :D

It's a very cool little indie strategy game with an unusual structure and a great setting. The demo sold me on it as well.

The demo looks promising. Does it have hotseat support? I couldn't find anything about that on the website.

no hostseat support. It's pure human against AI. The AI is remarkably good, however.

Goodaye,

Armageddon Empires is pure strategy gaming heroin.

Stay away if you value your free time.

You have been warned.
