New diplo time-out periods and "I'm scared of them" messages from AIs

I have two questions about when an AI shows up to tell you they're worried that so-and-so has too much influence, etc.

1) Do they do this to each other?

2) Does this message mean that the AI has "used its turn" to talk to me or another AI?

It only counts against the timer if something is exchanged. If the AI pops up just to say something but nothing is traded or gifted, then it doesn't count. This also menas you can talk to the AIs as well, and as long as you don't trade anything, you can talk to them again as soon as you like.

I'll give you partial credit for this answer. Is the AI precluded from communicating with any other civ for the same amount of time as i am, after trading?

If a civilization trades with other civilization (being yours or the AI), that civilization cannot trade or talk with the second one for some time. That time seems to be reduced if the civilization has the Super Diplomat ability. At least it's marked in the window message when i try to talk with them again after trading and closing (or changing to other civ screen) the window. Meanwhile, that civilization can still talk with the other civilizations.

About the first point... I suppose they do as, i read once somewhere (sorry, no link ), the AIs don't make any difference between other AIs and the player. Right?

Yeah, and (IIRC) you can talk to allies whenever you choose (they'll never be too busy for you).

I know this is a general rule, but hadn't thought about it when I posted my basic question. This reminder gives me a fresh question, though: When one AI complains about you to another, does it hurt your diplo rating with the AI who hears the complaint?
