Many (Most?) won't even go through the o/s settings provided by MS to minimize the exposure, researching those and digging them out is enough of a chore in itself. I don't think the answer to MS's using its OSs as hardware marketing tools is hacking or "patching". We'll continue to be at odds about that because fundamentally, these efforts probably void warranties.
Windows 12 is a real thing, apparently sources at MS has said they are moving back to a new OS around every 3 years or so , with a new OS around 2024.
And what do you bet there'll be new hardware demands to force you to buy a new computer for the OS that'll take a year or more to iron the bugs out of? [e digicons][/e]

I found this article which might interest you despite the implication in your original post that you're referring to all Stardock's software). I would guess (I don't know with any degree of certainty) that Stardock does translations for languages which are native for most of its customers for any given software program. Perhaps there just isn't the number of customers that would justify translation costs. https://for

Let me attempt to settle the question of SD software vs. non-SD software. This is indeed the Desktop Screenshot of the month thread. It isn't limited to Stardock apps although, considering who's hosting this thread, folks who show SD apps in these screenies won't be punished. ;) I posted Darth , which was originally Dangeruss's blind. WebGizmos ported it to Winstep. Unfortunately, many great blinds won't be updated, an

The "patched" files will void your warranty from MS. They can be recovered by using the elevated command prompt and typing in sfc /scannow on W10. https://windowsreport.com/corrupted-system-files-windows-10/ Discusses repair of W10 and W11 system files.<

I ddg'd "ashampoo driver updater warnings" and found it triggers eset, and others. That could be a true positive or false positive depending where you obtained the software, and whether it came bundled or not. ashampoo support answered this issue in the past: https://support.ashampoo.com/hc/en-u

Hacking isn't very probable. More likely the dropbox (or similar type repository) account involved was reclaimed by them when they went for pay only, and the original image was replaced by a filler, or Corky_O replaced the image in the tutorial with other pictures and the original link leads nowhere. Corky_O hasn't been an active member in some time.

Stardock's policy regarding updates/upgrades isn't a secret. It is public knowledge if you care to look it up: https://www.stardock.com/support/maintenance Whether or not another software developer chooses to give forever free updates doesn't obligate Stardock to do so. I also wouldn't compare the sophistication of an internet software downloader to that of Fences 4.
