My computer got so slow becuase of the way i loaded so many skins to my computer......

so i don't wnat this to happen again.....can i install the bootskin, log-on windowblinds.....etc software on a cd? Will i still be able to put skins on my computer? will it even work? can u guys give me advise on what to do so that the problem won't happen again?

Yeah.. Just get more RAM.

The processor isnt the issue... All this Stardock stuff works fine here on a P3 500...

And I only have 384 MB's of RAM.. According to the user manual, that's maxxing the mobo's abilities out...

does the amount of memory depend on the size of the hard drive?

My computer can store up to 2GB of memory and they gave me only 512MB....does that mean that the company is cheap and doesn't want you to have that much?

The processor isnt the issue...

No it doesn't relate to the harddrive. The amount of ram is directly related to the cost of the machine. If a PC cost £1500 then it will most likely have a lot more memory than a PC costing £700.

I would aim to have at least 1gb of RAM to comfortably run WinXP and most of today's programs. But if you're using Memory hungry software such as Video editing / photo editing software or 3D software. Then you should probably aim for something like 1.5gb to 2gb.

The formula is very basic MORE RAM = FASTER PC

ok i kind of over done it but serious i can never work on a computer slower than mine
