My sound didn't work since the day i...

Usually in windows, when you turn shut down or restart your computer, you can hear a nice sound. Also when you turn on your computer, at the welcome screen, you also hear a nice sound. you guys know what sounds they are. (or you guys should know!) Ever since i replaced the orginal windows log-on to a better looking or cool log-on, i haven't heard those sounds anymore. i still hear sounds on my computer but not when i turn off or turn on my computer.

Can you guys help me?

NOTE: i went to sounds, speech, and audio devices in the control panel and it was still set to making those welcome and exit windows sounds.

I don't think he needs to do that because he hears other sounds .
Bash2Cool, try disbling the sounds for shutdown and startup then apply then set them again - and tell us what happens.
Good Luck

Click 'start' then 'help'
click on 'index' tab
type in sounds
scroll down to assigning sounds to program events
click display and you get this:

1. To assign sounds to program events
2. Open Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel.
3. On the Sounds tab, in the Program events list, click the program event to which you want to assign a sound.
4. In the Sounds box, click the sound you want to play whenever the selected program event occurs.
If the sound you want to use is not listed, click Browse to search for it.
Notes

To open Sounds and Audio Devices, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
To test a sound, in the Sounds box, click the sound you want to test, and then click Play sound . To stop the sound, click Stop .

click the blue link in the first line
follow the 2nd and third instruction
when you click on the sounds tab scroll down until you find what you want - if it has a speaker next to it, click and go up the scroll to none to turn it off.
