When you right-click the tab (not the body of the tab) and select Delete > Delete this tab, the Start11 menu disappears, and the tab is not deleted. (There is also no confirmation prompt.)

I do not know if any specific action was taken to fix this bug, but with 2.06, I can no longer reproduce it.
