How To Get Rid of Accumulated Ship Designs

I just started a new game and, as shown in the screen snapshot below, I have a ship available to build in my shipyard that should not be available (Praxis, Custom 8).  This was a ship that I created by modifying the Praxis ship in a previous game.  Apparently, this ship design (and others) are saved somewhere.

What I would like to know is, where are these ship designs stored and how can I get rid of them to start "clean"?

You could try deleting them. That'll get rid of them for good.

Alternatively, you could obsolete them, but then you have to do that every new game.

A third option is to go into your saved data files and back them up before deleting them. They should be here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\GalCiv4\Designs
