re: GT2 Icon Packager skin

I have downloaded this 3 times and I get an error message everytime I try to install it that the file is corrupt and that there is no personality file... whatever that is. I tried downloading it by rt clicking it and I tried by just clicking the download, but both ways I got that error. Will someone please tell me how they got it to install?

download the file to your hard drive, then run IconPackager, click on "install new package", select "from disk", navigate to GT2.ip and select it - it should then be installed, click "apply" if you like the look of it

That's how I did it already and I got that error message. Any idea why?

I sometimes had troubles so I started downloading and installing through either Wincustomize browser, or Stardock Central, if you have either.

I have attempted to download the GT2 skin and it seems to be in my skins file if I go into the C: drive but it won't appear in the display properties so that I can apply it. Any suggestions?

look for a file named (username).cat in your windowblinds folder where (username) is you windows user name. delete it and then re-open the display properties. This will cause the list to be refreshed.

actually first go into the windowblinds directory and if there is a folder there named gt2 or anything close to it delete it. I used to have problems with this. Since you have tried to install it multiple times there might be multiple folders with the gt2 name with little numbers or stuff behind it. then delete the cat file. the redownload gt2 and hopefully it will install right.
