Winamp 5 Alpha available

Anyone else trying the Winamp 5 Alpha yet? If you do a google search you'll find lots of download links. I haven't been able to get it to work with freeform skins yet.

I still don't quite get the number skip to 5 (ignoring the wonderful number 4)

joe, winamp '5' comes from the combineing of winamp 2 and winamp 3 (3+2) features

hashonboat, dont expect 'miracles' from this version. It was a Nullsoft internal version that was leaked onto the net.

Well.... leaked might be a harsh term.
I call it a "keep-the-interest-hot-so-they-dont-forget-about-it" version....

I remembered that... still seemed... well I'll just say it:

Wierd.

Thanks, hashonboat. I must try to grab it. I kneel to the Winamp gods daily. However, v3 was garbage. That is why Nullsoft scrapped that line and just started again. Apparently the whole 2+3=5 thing came from taking v3's sweeter interface (and it was nice) and combining in with v2's feature set. Ooh, I can't wait 'till beta time!

I've had this alpha for nearly 3 weeks. I have used it as my main player since then. It is very stable for an alpha. It uses the WA3 freeform skins perfectly, but without the drag of WA3's memory. It definitely is where 3 should have been.
Plus it works with keyboard launchpad just fine with the WA2 hooks.

I have been using the MMD3 skin on Winamp5. The only thing that doesnt work is the Color themes tray that is supposed to slide out in mini mode. It slides out but i cant see the list of color themes. When the skin is in normal mode I can see the color theme list just fine. I havent tried any other WA3 skin with it though
