A rude comment.

I thought the comment made about Shmoopy's Summer Dream was very rude and uncalled for. I liked that skin.

It was rude. He could have found a much better way to express his opinion than by saying what he said. People are going to have both positive and negative reactions to any skin that is on the site, and it's ok, in my opinion, to express those opinions, but please, if you have negative comment to make, use a little bit of common sense in the way you word it.

put a link to it, and a admin will "take care" of it.

Oil2003's comment? Negative but not 'obscene'...if Shmoopy wishes it be removed I'll make it 'so'...
If Oil2003 crosses the 'line' he can be removed also...

"This looks like something I ate and lost."
Funny.
"I thought that Shmoopy could do a lot better than this."
Uncalled for.
"This is horrible."
Personal taste, and I happen to agree. Very rude? Not really, just a little insensitive.

Styl...compared with the dizzy heights Scott Sproat aspired to, that comment was even LESS than 'little', believe me...

Why remove a negative comment?

I realize the comment is not exactly so called "Constructive Criticism" but if you upload your work you have to take the good with the bad.

That was harrison1701's opinion and it should not be censored.
The comment really isn't that out of line.

I think rude comments are all uncalled for and reflect directly on the character of commenter. Although there will always be those who are rude, as long as they don't cross that line between rudeness and obscenity there is little anyone can do other than form a low opinion of the commenter. My rule of thumb is if you can't say something nice then don't comment. I even keep constructive criticism to private communication, I feel there is no need to make a negative public spectacle in the comment section of someones hard work. There are always going to be negative comments unfortunately, some will just not like your work, some just won't like you, some will be jealous and some are just negative people...it's just a character flaw some have.

Negative views are reasonable if they are "constructive". For example, personally I'm not keen on the flowers but that's just me (macho image and all that ).

Rudeness is a whole 'nother thing.

A comment is also a reflection of the giver, so now we know Oil2003.

Oh my! This thread was about my skin?

Thank you River55IL but honestly, I wasn't offended in the least and even got a chuckle out of it because I knew this was a skin that was one of those 'like it' or 'hate it' things which is why I mentioned in the opening that some people may say, "blech!" hehe!

So, no I don't want the negatives removed...I think they round it out and I expected more really (I'm sure there will be ) which usually happens when a skin is not for every taste. The only negatives that would truly concern me are ones that make a person's computer totally hard to use, then I'd listen carefully and try to fix what I'd done wrong.

Everyone have a great weekend!

I do agree however, that Oil2003's comments could have been expressed a bit more delicately.I also liked that skin!!

Don't get me wrong, I am never impressed with asinine, childish comment, either good or bad.
Often they are far more embarrassing for the one who posts them than for the recipient.

The ones that DO 'cross the line' are removed, whether positive OR negative...

---And Jafo, I appreciate that about you, you usually take action right away if it's blatant rudeness but you give the author a chance to state whether they think so if you're on the fence about it.

Funny thing is, when I first joined WC I was super-sensitive about everything I submitted...now I can take a few steps back and realize "Hey, if I weren't ME, I might really hate this!" Truth is, sometimes I'm in utter shock anyone likes my stuff since 99.9% of the time it's geared to my own personal tastes.

So, in many ways...this place has helped me to grow up some. Imagine that?
