Rainlendar library

It would be very nice to see the types of skins the great artists on this site would come up with... I hope to see it soon

I'd be all for it... and Trillian too.

If they couldn't make a category for each... perhaps a miscellaneous one?

How about having a poll to vote on this... If the administrators see enough response they might consider it.

ok, ok...

maybe it wouldn't quite work in the Graphics section... I guess Trillion has proved itself too... I remember when I was voting for HoverWeather until I realized that would never happen due to the fact it uses Yahoo!'s bandwidth to get the information to your desktop.

Never the less, I don't see the problem with Trillian, as it is a major program used with little problems. Rainlendar... I don't know... isn't it a little unstable? What version is it in? Anyone updating that?

those would be my questions... not that I can make a new library on my own or anything, but one vote counts!!

I think it's all about skinning and having fun and not so much on how stable a program is...Did we forget how unstable the WB beta version was?

I''ve used Rainlendar on old W98 PC's and now my new XP box, I haven't noticed anything unstable about Rainlendar since I've been using it. It just sits there and works. The author does update it from time to time. I probably should check since I'm using the version I downloaded last November.

Some kind of a combined group until there are enough skins to warrent seprate sections? Definitly would like to see Trillian skins encouraged and Rainlender is definitly popular enough to warrent it.

Trillian without a doubt... though I don't think it's promising that new sections will come about, though you never know.

you got my vote on both, they belong just as much as sysmetrix does...

I'd like to see skins for both Rainlendar and Trillian. I've used both for a long time now, at least in the PC sense. Rainlendar is updated as often as necessary, or whenever feature requests pile up. It's written and maintained by Kimmo Pekkola (aka Rainy) who also codes rainmeter - like sysmetrix, but with litestep module compatability (same for rainlendar). Rainy's site is http://vapaa.dc.inet.fi/~rainy/index.html

I'd love to see a Rainlendar section. I often port WB skins (with permission) and I'd prefer to post them to WC instead of Skinbase or Deskmod. Not that I dislike their sites - but the only thing I use them for is to post my skins. Ok, so I'm lazy.

Rainlendar is currently version 0.15, but that's been misleading in my experience. It runs more stablely than some Microsoft programs I've used. Version 1.5 also added support for PNG files, which makes it easier to do transparencies.

I wish some administrators would offer their points of view on this....

In the not so distant past (perhaps a few weeks ago) when this issue came up here again, T-man said they had a to do list related to the site and new categories/libraries weren't high on the list. Since new people have been hired to help with the site and they've been making some improvements, perhaps new categories are moving up on the list. We can hope.

and Graypony does some of the best MMJB skins ever. If we could get that library added, it would be worth it just to get all his stuff over here

There are already 2238 Rainlendar skins available here minus the ones that don't change their "please wait" logo.

So each time a new WindowBlinds makes itself available you basically get a new rainlendar skin. Isn't that nice.

Just be sure to get a few actual skins so that you can edit it to the way you want.
