Oh no no no. What gives you that idea? When you become a founder you are throwing money at Stardock. Nothing more. They give you a fancy badge. Thats all.

If you expect a Steam key, you will have to buy that separately when it shows up on the store. Everyone else who has replied thus far are merely confused.

Serious now. Both founder packages will give you a Steam key at some point in time. The Founder Elite version will give you a Steam key as early as the first public Alpha, while the basic Founder version will give you a key when the public Beta is made available.

Edit: Fixed a detail I got wrong about when the Steam keys start showing up.

I just reviewed the order page. The elite founders get the Alpha test code, the standard founders do not. Check it out. go to the very top of this page where you will find tabs. The right tab is the "store" tab. It takes you directly to the description of both order-able editions and the descriptions of what you get in each is there.

don't know what a "founde" is but I haven't seen anything about a steam key being handed out if you were one lol...

The more expensive package is more cost effective long term, if they make a lot of DLC. But the cheaper one gets you the game for a much lower cost now, so it's better if you don't have as much money lying around. 

This is kinda sorta true but not necessarily.

Now that 'GOTY' 'Uber' 'Gold' 'Platinum' 'Rust' 'Diamond' 'Gravy' versions of games are done post release, you have to wait a LONG time now for a game with a lot of addons to be released with everything. They also tend to just make the GOTY version the same as the retail price at release at release. So the curve is not nearly as steep as it usd to be.
