Background song unusual or bad install?

Hey all! Having a lot of fun with FE. Really glad I picked it up. As I start me second full game, a background song (on the world map) seems to be overlaid with itself or repeating in a jarring fashion. It is interfering with my enjoyment of the game. The theme song in the title screen and the battle music/effects all seem fine and unobjectionable.

Now, it is entirely possible that the music is working as intended and my audio likes are just peculiar. Either way, is there a method to check the in game music one song at a time, or alter the playlist so I listen only to the other audio work in the game? Or is there just one "world map" background song?

(I did verify my audio drivers were up to date before posting. On Steam if it matters.)

Thanks!

maybe try verifying your file integrity from the steam client?

I have the same problem with an install from SDC.  As nice as the music is I just turn it off and play something in the background.

I did verify via Steam, and it said everything was kosher. After rooting around in the files a bit, I found one called "Layered Music" with a bunch of MP3's in it. After skimming through them, I realized I really did like quite a few of the themes. But there were some, that if combined together, would be jarring for me. (And there is also one called silence, which could explain why sometimes there is no Music for me on the World Map.)

So, I pulled two out from the layered music file and that seems to have made the music more pleasant for me. I have no idea if it is random chance though, or if I actually changed something with the game.

Cheers!
