Hi all, been a while for me since I posted here but I've been playing the beta a lot and have some thoughts, just wondering what others think as well.
First, corvettes and the new TEC capital ship. I like the idea of both, and each has some interesting possibilities. However, I don't think that either fit very well into the TEC faction/subfactions. Corvettes, the TEC ones at least, aren't quite good enough to warrant using up much fleet supply on them. Adding a universal ability to the corvette of both factions that closely aligns with the themes present in the TEC faction would very much improve their usefulness. Perhaps an ability that sabotages weapons systems, or slowly drains the targets AM.
The Corsev Cap is actually one of my biggest gripes with the beta. I love the idea of the ship, I really do. The abilities could use some tweaking, perhaps a small buff in some ways, but my biggest gripe with it is that it has no relevance to the Loyalist faction. I think it perfectly suits the aggressive nature of the Rebel faction, and fits very nicely with their research techs that net them forces in nontraditional ways (pirates and stuff). However it makes no sense for the Loyalists. It would make sense to me to have a new cap for each faction, obviously for the loyalists this would be one that is primarily defensive. Thoughts? Maybe a very heavily armored ship that is weak offensively but has these abilities: area buff to health regen, single target armor reinforcement (cant target titan)...well I'm a little stumped as to what else would be appropriate. Put on your thinking caps people.
Finally, I had a couple points/ideas/suggestions/whatever you want to call them about titans. First, the research tiers should be increased, I think 1 - 2 - 4 - 6 would be appropriate, youll get your titan well before the end of the game, but it wont be the only thing focused on in the early game. Second, and I dont know if this would actually work, but instead of rebuilding titans at the same level they died at (but with 0 experience), have a tiered level reduction system. Each time the titan dies, reduce the level of the rebuilt one following the Fibbonacci sequence: 1 1 2 3 5. Stop at 5 so it wouldnt ridiculously handicap the titan in the late game, and of course the titan cant go below level 1.
I'd love some feedback, this is just stuff thats been rattling around my head as I've been playing the beta. Thanks.
