need big help with a sound wav for sysmetrix project

I want to make a sysmetrix of the clock on mrs muirs mantle from the movie the ghost and mrs muir, the clock was a ships wheel clock and it had the most beautiful chime that struck at the hour. I searched in vain on the internet for a sound wav file for it, so i did the next best thing,

I recorded the sound of the chime from the movie, but my problem is, it dosent sound too fantastic. could anyone be able to help me with it?

the start of the wav needs to be trimmed as there is background music from the movie on it, and at the end there is the sound of me clicking my mobile phone to end the recording.... or if possible, maybe someone could replicate the sound?

this is the file : http://www.4shared.com/audio/fuvG3tI2/SUD_0127_001.html
you might need to download it, im not sure.

I hope someone can help me, the ghost and mrs muir is one of my favourite movies and id dearly love to hear that chime from a sysmetrix every hour!!

Vamps... sounds like a ship's bell. Also, it has extraneous 'crackles'. Karen uploaded a sound packager "Zen" so she def has the software to do the clean up, maybe if you pm or email her she can help? Just a thought.

yes you are right, i didnt know it was a ships bell, but it makes sense since he was a captain, ill ask karen about it. xx

and yeah, its not the best quality, is it?.......

Kitty - check your PM's -- and sorry about that first one that was blank.  My computer is bogged down momentarily because I'm creating a slide show of my vow renewal pictures to send to my relatives and saving an HD movie sucks up power like a mofo.

np K, i ended up going with your second solution and finding a ships bell wav from the internet instead, i like enough to use it, so im happy with it... now i just gotta make it stick, sysmetrix loves turning off the hourly sound no matter how much you save it, or where you save the actual sound wav itself.....

Vampothika I hope one day we will see you skinning rainmeter. No one was a bigger fan of sysmetrix then I but the program needs a serious update and it seems like the interest or ability to keep it up to date is just not there. The weather no longer works and it does not support things like dual cpu's let alone quad like I have. With rainmeter it is easy to add extra support for things like quad cores and it does have many options for weather that is not limited to one source. Rainmeter is one program that I do not see ever becoming a dinosaur like Sysmetrix is. I hope you will take on skinning it because quite frankly you would make some bad ass rainmeter skins.

i will have to try to skin it, ill be honest, i downloaded it last week, took one look at it and screamed hahahha

maybe you can help me?........i love sysmetrix...i dont know why..i just do... but im open to look at rainmeter..very open.

i ended up working out the sound thing, after i restarted my pc the sound seemed to stick, so it must be a reboot thing.

JuniorCrook's suggestion bears merit. I'm looking into rainmeter too. Have a few more projects to finish up first though. Good advice JC.
