[Suggestion] My suggestion compilation for Cities and Champions

Greetings, I wanted to suggest changing the way City Level up bonuses are handled. I think the idea on a city leveling up and getting a bonus is pretty cool, but the current way of giving us this option is rather shallow. What I'm trying to say is that currently, you reach a new level with a city then you choose a bonus and thats it. There isn't even a way to tell that you actually have a bonus in that city or what that bonus even is.

Edit1: Added link at the bottom for my ideas compilation, this file is in MS PowerPoint format for anyone interested in seeing both my champ and cities ideas together.

My idea for improving upon this concept is to add a "free" building that doesnt eat up your construction tiles and this idea is also linked to another of my suggestions on improving champions, which can be found on the thread Consolidated ideas thread for trade and characters. But thats not my only suggestion, I also suggest adding a way to see these bonuses on the city details. I did some modifications using crappy bitmap to give a rough idea what I'm talking about and can be seen below.

Notice I added an "Examine City" button at the top right, since at the moment you cant really tell what a city is producing (this could be a problem when you have many cities). Also I added 4 Bonuses but I got more ideas for "Management Seats" for other classes but for now I just changed the current bonuses.

In the picture above I just added the bonus to be seen when you click on the city details. As of now I don't think there is any way of knowing what your city is actually specializing in. Hope my crappy bitmap editing skills didnt burn your eye lids but thats my suggestion on City Leveling up! I think that coupled with the ideas of champions having talents would add another layer of depth to the game.

Edit1: I decided to put both my cities and champions ideas together and make them available to anyone who might be interested in seeing my ideas, I used powerpoint to make it as organized as possible wnhile brain storming for ideas. It should be noted that this isn't anywhere near complete and of course anything could change! (07/21/2010)

yeah this is needed badly, but i am sure stardock probably already has a fix in the works, atleast for 1.0.

I wonder if it would be possible to pursue city enhancements in a tree-like manner. For example:

 

Magic Tree:

Level 1 : enhancement adds 1 point to spell research.

Level 2A : enhancement amplifies the impact of gathered shards by 10%

Level 2B : friendly units recharge mana 50% faster while in the city.

 

Etc. And display this in tree like manner, the way you'd expect to find a skill tree in Diablo 3 for example.

i really like this idea, shouldnt be too hard to do

why the need to not eat a tile btw?

 

i think even if the special building eat a tile is well worth for 20% bonus+ slot for "governor"

 

also in the new 3c beta tiles in cities are way less required, you build a lot less so its not really a big deal

The only reason I said it wouldn't cost tiles is because currently it doesn't, you just select a bonus and forget it. But thinking about it I don't think it would be a big deal if it did or didn't cost a tile since after a city levels up you would always have at least 1 free tile to put this up. This is all hypothethical though unless they somehow like the idea lol.
