Concern With Pre-Made Skirmish and Pantheon Groups

I am PUG'er. I don't have a group of people I can get together and form a premade group. I'm not looking to (right now) be part of a premade group. I enjoy playing a game or two a day in pantheon or skirmish because it pairs up strangers.

Ok, now my concern is that if I'm in a group of strangers against a premade group who mostlikely have an understanding of eachothers playstyles and a way to communicate outside the game, I will most likely be owned and my Demigod experience (which has been very positive so far) will be ruined.

I want to voice this opinion because I'm sure there are others in my situation and want a way to opt out of playing against premade groups in skirmish and pantheon.

Thanks GPG and Stardock for listening,

Othello

My understanding would be that Pre-made groups would be matched only against other pre-made groups. If a pre-made group wants to PUG-Stomp they'll throw up a Custom Game, however if they want a challenge they'll hit the match making service.

I hope that's how it is ZehDon.

I was under the assumption pre-mades would be mixed with PUG's. But I could be wrong.

I just made another thread in ideas about this at http://forums.demigodthegame.com/355043

There is a very simple solution to this problem, do not display player names in the connection info tab when the games are starting.  There is no valid reason for that information to be there anyways (in Pantheon/Skirmish).

Getting a premade group in Pantheon or Skirmish isn't easy anyway. The people trying to form the group are at the mercy of the automatcher, so surely this doesnt happen very often.

Not all premades are all that great. There are plenty of new players that all join up with their friends and they are all so new that probably a single really good player could kill 3 of them at once. It happens. But you'd never know they were a poor premade, you'd just remember it as an extremely easy game against some random people. The same goes with good premade teams. Sure they are much much tougher to win against but seriously we can't win them all.

I play with at least 1 other and sometimes 4 other friends and we are all rather good. And you know what, we still lose. Not often but it certainly does happen.

But the design of DG certainly favours people who work together... this is undeniable. 2 or more regs sniping at once is more effective than 2 or more regs running off in random directions...

You can force it to happen via cancelling out of games while looking at the connection info tab for your friend.

The reason why this is an issue is that it screws up those other games the people attempting to form a premade are leaving over and over again.
