Demigod On Linux

Multiple questions:

1) Has anyone set up demigod successfully on linux? And is able to play online?

2) will SD ever make an effort to make a wine or cedega or whatever-based port of DG to linux? Or is SD's policy to never deal with linux EVER!?

No one deals with Linux, ever.  If you're lucky it will work in whatever emulator you can set up, but probably not.

I thought people double-boot just double-boot linux, so as to avoid this problem.

Demigod runs alright in WINE.

Having said that, I'm a linux freak and I still maintain a Windows partition simply for ease of use gaming.

But, does Impulse work under Linux? I was under the impression it didn't.

Ah, that's a good point.  I'd think it wouldn't as well, as it requires IE7.

Quite the pickle, as everything else concerning Demigod appears to work fine, but you can't update it. XO

I did however find this:

"For now, at least, SDCentral provides the same functionality, works perfectly under wine, and is still available from this link: sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe"

from http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=13986

I don't know what SDCentral is or does, but this comment seems to imply that it can provide the same functionality as Impulse.  Maybe it allows updates.

It's the program they replaced impulse with. Served the same functionality, just a lot uglier. It's how I got all my sins patches before 1.1. I'm surprised it still works, I guess that the new impulse setup gives the patches to sdc anyway.
