Just letting u know zonealarm does not like sins. It crashes to black screen + lockup.
Ive been scratching my head over this one, downloaded the lastest video drver, uninstalled and reinstalled sins/entrenchment, finally thought to switch off zonealarm - no problem when it is off.
grim I have been using sins from 1.02 till present WITH zonealarm free v7.0.483.000 with no problema at all atmittedly not online. could theproblem be only in zonealarm 8 or to do with the zonealarm popup asking if you want sins to access the internet, if so then you could check the program control on the left side of the zonealarm window, then click on the programs tab at the top of the window and scroll down the list till you see the sins exe and then leftclick on the second questionmark from the left and click on the tick(allow) and repeat for the entrenchment exe close zonealarm control centre and test again

I use zonealarm security suit. I dont play on line, besides It is at start up that it crashes. As for checking the programs tab- I will do that when I'm home.
Quick question though, does sins always access the internet on start up?
from my basic testing not it does not access the internet on startup,and I set the firewall to block all access to networks by sins then started it , it started a bit slower,but operated normally,but I do not use zonealarm security suite because I prefer specialist software for each part of the defences, ie zonealarm free for the firewall, avast for the antvirus,spybot search & destroy adaware and spyware blaster for antispyware, and serveral antirootkit tools for antirootkits.
for your problem I think that the suite might need to checkout the program controls and any parts of programs such as dlls etc in the sins directory and allow them to have local access,sorry but I do not know the suite well enough to advise exactly what settings to alter in it

I have been having the same problem since installign zone alarm. I am not sure it is the video drivers, unless it is somethign specific to NVidea. I had a 7300GT and now a 9600GT and the problem exists with both cards.
my quick testing was with winxp nvidia zonealarm free and windows764bit ati vista firewall control as zonealarm does not support windows7 or 64bit. I'll stop now before I start ranting

Thought I would try this just in caes - no go. It's not a big problem as I can shut down ZA before playing, but I am woundering what changes were made to sins that ZA does not like?
