You need malice, but since that was nerffed* too you pretty much are beter off with with other caps.

Or get a marza.

Marza can wipe the 50 frigates at lvl 6 and then ask for more.

It's difficult to get the Marza as Advent. But yeah, a level 6 Radiance is especially embarassing compared to a level 6 Marza.

I haven't tested Animosity against a human player yet but if it is possible to give orders to ships that are force attacking that should be fixed too. Radiance is the best looking cap in the game, too bad it kinda sucks.

Too bad you can't combine similar abilities from multiple caps.   Like 3 Raptures using domination to take over an opponent's Cap.

Guess that's asking for a bit much though.

But yeah I never even use Clensing Brilliance, or the Radiance at all unless I have an extra Cap slot.

Yes, cleasning brilliance sucks as a level 6 ability...

I always use it in fleet battles with Malice.  It does a lot of damage with level 3 Malice.

in that case, animosity + vengence is a better combo imo.

Malice is the better ability out of those two and it works with everything. And you need two level 6 caps to pull the combination off. In comparison, Missile Barrage from two level 6 Marzas would deal 3 times the damage of CB+Malice from Radiance+Progenitor with a lot bigger AoE.

Cleansing Brilliance should be something to fear on its own.

As a work around, you could simply just roll in with 3 prog's, and like 20 guardians and make yourself nearly invincible

Starhound, plz explain how you get 2 lvl 6 caps before being able to do CB + Malice? you need 1 lvl 6 and 1 lvl 1(well most likely a bit higher to give it shield restore aswell but still, point stands.

I'm not saying it is on par with missile barrage or anything but why should it be?. Tec needs to use the highest % of fleet supply on suportships so fleet vs fleet their dps will be lover and GL getting 2 marzas from 1 side of a gravwell to the other vs radience + mothership (shield repair ftw) in a major fleet engagement

CD is only 1/3 of the duration making it much easier to get off compared to MB, I'm a faily new player and i don't think i've ever let a marza get of more than 3salvoes before interupting it-> that would equaal ~25% of max on MB if i did the same vs CB it would be ~90% of max effect. the better you get the less MB is gonna hurt you.

All that said i'd rater use the AM on other stuff than CB atm as it does seem a bit lackluster but i suspect that is mostly us being nuubs and not spotting it's optimal use, however the beam from CB seems abit to hard to get to cover more than a few enemy ships(hmm i wonder how good it is at taking out struktures?)

He said level 3 Malice. Ok that means the Progenitor has to be at least level 5 but how likely is it that you would pick level 3 Malice before level 3 Shield Restore or Colonize or even Resurrection.

And the topic was not Malice or battle tactics or synergies, it was Cleansing Brilliance as a lackluster level 6 ability.

True but not the worst, replicate is deffo worse and a few other are kinda meh aswell, that said

1! needs by definition to be the worst and even if that is CB, advent as a whole seems to be on par. And tbh not being reliant on 1 caps ships lvl 6 abillity is a good thing imo diversity> marza spamming imo

I did a little testing.  I played against 1 easy AI.  I build one Progenitor, Radiance and Rapture and get them a couple levels.  I casted level 2 vengence on Radiance that just cast animosity.  The damage is minimal even though it should be doing 130% retaliation.  However it is a great combo since it can be further comboed with Malice.  Malice + Animosity + Vengeance is pretty good.  I also tried CB on frigates and Cap ships.  It will kill frigates one hit; it does around 1500 damage (I think more on structures).  It is pretty good when you want to kill something fast, and there is a small chance that you can catch some bonus in the pillar.  The problem is that it is very hard to combo with Malice; I think Malice has a small window and CB has a small delay.  I wish they will increase the radius of CB and reduce the delay (I think the idea was kind of like Cap Commando's Captain Sword).  IMO Radiance is quite valuable for Advent fleet.

8k hull/shield and 13 armor when maxed + energy arborbing armor + animosity maxes it *the* cap when everything is reashearched with propper supoert it can take an insane beating and survive nullifing a huge portion of enemy dps so despite clensing not being the sizzle it's one of the better caps in the game

And just in case you went overboard with Animosity and it blew up.  Just cast Ressurect.  Hahah.  Advent got some crazy perks.

Detonate AM bypasses shields, so it works nicely on opposing Advent ships.
