Whats your favorite Type Of Planet To Colonize ?

My favorite Type Of Planet to Colonize would Be Asteriods (there not really planets). But i think there the Easiest to take and most times they either have 2 metal asteriods and 1 crystal asteriod or vis-versa. Its always good to have a couple asteriods near your home world i think because there easy to take and you usually end up being ahead of every one else in resources.

I like savannah and oceanic planets. Though I need to figure out how to remove the rogue stars from the latest version of 7DS I find them to just be a distraction and having 4 stars in one star system feels redundant and retarded. ;)

Savannah? Oceanic? What are you talking about?

7 Deadly Sins mod. Got lots of new planet types.

Probably desert. I'm almost always needing more civic slots
However, I will defend an ice planet or earth much more than I would a desert.

Desert. Lots of civic slots, good crystal and a decent cash generating population if you're Advent. (And I'm nearly always Advent)

Desert and Terran...unless those are mod planets that I don't know about.

I like to colonize ALL planets CONQUERING THE GALAXY!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAH! *cough* ahem... I like them all, asteroids and volcanic are my least favorite though.

Desert as they are the perfect trade centers because of the large amount of logistics slots they can have.

Also Ice and Volcanic as they offer excellent resource capabilities.

yes there mod planets originally from Sins Plus, later added into 7 deadly sins mod compilation. Trust me just get it. Having 16 more planet types (not counting the rogue stars the creater of 7ds added also) makes things a bit more interesting. Not to count the addition 66 planet traits that were carried over from sins plus.

I'll go with Ice 'cause I love the cold and they have lotsa' crystal, then desert 'cause I am from a desert and they have tons of logistics.

Ice, because crystal is scarce and I nearly always play TEC. A TEC ice planet with tundra farms is a nice income generator :D.

I've been hearing a lot about this Seven Deadly Sins mod, except none of what I hear is informationsl. Does it give a description of what is in the mod when you go to download it? I'm not a real big fan of mods, especially ones that change and alter how structures and units work. ex: adding weapons to hangers and changing or adding abilities to cap ships and stuff. I feel that you run a higher risk of unbalancing the game with mods.

So do you get a new map or something with the Seven Deadly Sins mod, or is it a new way of randomly generating maps; or is it more?

It's a large combo of different mods. I've frankly put off downloading it since I don't want to have unbalanced new races in the game such as the atlanteans. I suppose I'll download the planets mod eventually, sins vanilla could use some more planets.

I like desert planets, I usually turn those into my "factories" and keep them churning out ships with six or so frig factories and two capital ships, then I use phase nodes to distribute my fleet.

Without the mod, I prefer to colonize volcanic planets because I always have low metal for some reason and four metal asteroids can help a lot.

In the 7ds mod, I prefer to colonize gas giants, rouge stars, or industrial planets. I like gas giants and rouge stars because they have so many logistic and tactical slots (I built about 10 trade ports and about 3-4 deliverance engines at a rouge star :D ) and tons of rescources, I prefer the industrial planets because they have about 800 population when fully upgraded and have +100% ship production.

Exactly what I'm afraid of with mods. What is the name of the planets mod though, maybe I'll try that one.

...Oh, just answered my own question

i like the desert planets best, i always make them my main shipyard planets with at least 2 capitol shipyards and 4 regular shipyards, leaving just enough for another trading- and culture hub, guarded by as many as fighter stations as possible.

I made a mistake and I cant find my edit button, the population on the industrial planet is around 500, not 800.

Edit button only works if you were the last one to post in the thread. Even then, it seems to have a mind of it's own as to whether it'll appear or not.

I did not know that, thanks.

OH I didn't want the new races either, all you have to do is go into the mod file, go into the game data files and delete the three entity files that enable the races so you delete player_rogue.entity, player_atlantian.entity, and player_korah.entity. That disables all 3 races. The ship files and stuff are still there but as far as the game is concerned none of it exists since it doesn't know what to do with it.

Also I should point out that Danman is planning on releasing the new 7DS mods for 1.1 in two versions. One with all his new races, and one without. So that people don't have to do what I did and remove the extra races.

Ice planets with 4 crystal mines are made of win..ice planets are also nice coz they generate positive income faster ;)
