There are some issues with TA;

The manual needs to define, clearly, what the bonuses are for each race, and tech trees are for each race. Getting the first few games in has been painful for me.
Why?
Because I'm not sure which race best fits my playstyle. It's a great problem to have, mind you, that this game has become so deep that you can essentially "role-play" your empire, BUT... how do I know what "character class" to pick? There isn't a lot of direction provided in game, and the supplied PDF is quite terse in this regard.
Which race has the best technologies and bonuses for the type of game I want to play? I don't know, it seems trial and error, almost. Incidently, I found a bug while doing this, if I start a new game while I have a game in progress, I get a CTD (Vista 32-bit SP1, 8800GTX, 4GB ram).
I would very much love some sort of online resource that defined the tech tree's and bonuses for each canned race. This would help emmensly.

Some planetary improvements use the old graphics still. Is an update coming to update these?
