Is this game worth getting if im only a single player?

Is this game worth getting if im only a single player?

I have always been a single player whenever im playing any game due to the problems that i always have with internet connection. Not the ports problem but it's the speed and stability of my connection.

I have been thinking of whether should i get this awesome game. This game has great support, good graphics and low system requirements.

The only thing that is holding me back:

Is this game's single player good enough to be the reason for me to buy this game since i dont play multiplayer at all?

The AI's not very strong and the single player diplomacy system is lousy. I mostly play single player and I regret having bought the game at this point, you'd be smart to wait, at least until they release a demo and you can try it out.

Nah,im not "smart" to wait for the game.I just cant get a boxed copy.

Im just waiting for the boxed copy to come to Aus.

You should also let him know that Gal Civ is a completely turn based game.

I did aware that Gal Civ is a turn based game.

I would always pick a RTS over a turn based strategy.

With time I think this will be a very nice game but like most computer games released in this decade it's nowhere near ready for prime-time. If you buy now you are basically paying $50 for Beta... which isn't a bad thing if that's your thing.

Yeah, this may be one of the great games in the game industry and i know IC and Stardock will fix almost all this bugs in the game.

I have confidence in them and they wont give us a half assed ai.If not, someone might fix it in a AI mod for Sins.

Beta? Because the game has few a.i. issues? Uh-huh......

lol I agree, I hate when people throw that term to describe a game too often. Sins is a very very polished game but not perfect. It is constantly being updated with patches too. Now saying you are paying for beta would have been accurate months ago, sins is still a quality product, more so many titles on the market today.

Yeah, kinda agree with it.This game seems to be so polished compare to other games.

Besides, making a good ai isnt something you can have in a short time.

I find that I play more often as a single player than Multi. I think perhaps when I am much better at the game I will dare to take on more strangers than close friends. Even if I only was able to use single player from here on out though I would still love it as a game.

I guess i'll get this game as soon as it's sold in Aus.

There are high demand for Sins there.Even those guys who work at EB Games want this game.

In the mean time, please improve the ai so that it can kick my a**.

I hate when people refer to something as "very very polished" and in the very next sentence acknowledge it is "constantly being updated with patches." If it were really very, very polished that wouldn't be necessary would it?

It's not as though those constant patches are simply adding extraneous fluff...

Perhaps the term "beta" is indeed thrown around with reckless abandon at times but I think the fact that people are taking exception to the term being used in conjunction with this game is more a reflection of the relentless lowering of the bar (of expectations of game release) more than the fact that the game is truly "finished." Clearly, it's not... especially for single player.

I'm old enough to remember when games worked and didn't need a series of patches to be playable on release... perhaps it's a result of the growing complexity of computer game software or maybe it's a result of cash-strapped developers. I dunno, but few games released today are done.

I don't mean to suggest that because it's still not finished that it's not going to be a great game... rather, that it's simply not there yet.

yeah the trouble with the AI is it's smart enough to run from a fight it can't win, but not good enough to ever amass a bigger fleet than a half decent human player. This could partially be solved by adding extra difficulty levels where the AI gets bonus resources.

I still like the coward AI more than the Zapp Brannigan AIs you find in most games that do nothing but send in wave after wave of their own men.
