Getting fed up with the metaverse and support

I posted a few times about the problem I'm having posting to the metaverse. The basic gist of the problem is that I had a great game that somehow will not post due to some serial number mismatch which appears to have started after I registered my TA beta in SDC. The response that came back from support indicated they hadn't even looked at the forum post I linked to in my question, and basically told me as much as I'd already figured out. I need to re-register my original serial in SDC and then on the metaverse.

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but can somebody please explain how you change your serial in the metaverse? I have seen no way to do this. When I create a new character, it has a field for the serial number, but when I edit an existing character, I see no such field. How can I reset my serial to get games posting again if the field doesn't exist?

I personally think that SD is an amazing company, but it's ridiculous that a serial number mismatch is this big a problem. I have no way of posting my old game because I don't know, and cannot find out what serial is stored in the saved game. I have no way of posting a new game because I don't know, and cannot find out what serial is stored on my metaverse character. Simply giving me access to this information would alleviate my problem and keep me from bothering support again!

I cannot believe that I may have to start from scratch with a new metaverse character. There has to be some way to get at this information. And if new serials are this big a problem, does this mean we won't be able to post TA games to our existing characters? I just don't see how the metaverse players will consider that an okay thing!

I reviewed your ticket. I believe that due to encryption updates that your serial number was updated on your account. I am sorry but I believe that this will make it unable to post. However in the reply email to you the new serial number was provided.

To register this info on metaverse click on the Metaverse button > Then Registrations > scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Register. Just paste the new info provided to you in the field then click Register and Get Updates. After that try posting the game. If the system will not allow it I don't know of another way you can post to the metaverse. I will contact our web team to find out more and if I get some info on this matter I will forward it along to you. If you still have troubles please reply to the support email and reference this post.

My apologies for the trouble. We will do our best to help.

Thanks for the effort - I won't have a chance to look at this until I get home. But I am pretty amazed I never looked through the links on the bottom of practically every page to see the "Register" link. I think I caught "teh dumb" recently or something.

My only concern is I don't think this will work. I can create a new metaverse character and post just fine, but my last new game still wasn't able to post to my old character

I'll try it out tonight and keep you updated. At least the new TA beta is ready for me to kill some time if I still can't do MV games over the weekend.

I was not able to post the existing games, but I was able to post a new game, so whatever the problem is, it's somehow stuck in the two save games I have. I re-registered on the web with the serial number provided by support, and created a new character with that serial. Not sure which of those two fixed the issue with posting new games.

Is there any way to analyze the save file to figure out why it won't post?

Well I don't think so but we can look and try. Send one into to support@stardock.com.

I am having a simular issue, and while I really like Stardock as well, must confirm that the appearence is that support did not actually read my email, but simply responded to the general catagory of 'metaverse posting error'.

I would like to follow these instructions myself, but when trying to reach the metaverse account I am told 'System.Web.HttpException: Login Required'. At no time am I permitted to enter a login since I am already logged in.

I would of course log out but doing so via the 'log out' button does not, in fact, log me out. I am too lazy to delete my cookies for this site manually at this time and go through the whole process. Perhaps later I will have time to debug the issue.

Sending the saves to support right now, but what I really don't understand is why there can't be something in debug.err or some way for me to analyze the save files. It would be nice if you guys (Stardock support) didn't have to be bothered for me to be able to get this taken care of.
