Settled world with initial colony stats?

Too mch food.

I searched around a bit for food production bugs but did not see any thing on this so...

I conqueored a back water planet named Hector about 4 years into the game and the colonies capital was giving 12MT Food production like an initial planet would. I have seen farm production bugs that you can save and reload to fix but it would not work with this. I did have the New Thalan show up in this game but I am not sure this planet belonged to them and was considered there initial colony or if it was even there planet. Any one else seen/know of this? Appologies if this has already been seen.

well... this is quite obviously their civilization capital, it gives more morale, industry, influence, food and research then a normal colony would.

Its like conquering a tech capital, you can have more then one as long as you conquer the extra ones... I THINK this might be intended (ie, you conquered their capital, now you get it to yourself)... but I might be wrong.

One thing that might be problematic with this is:
1. To conquer their capital you had to bring billions of people and annihilate their population.
2. Every time you conquer a captial, tech capital, construction captital, or economy capital they seem to go and get a NEW one.. so you might end up with a TON of them....

No. As long as the race has any planets left, when you conquer their current capital they transfer their civilization capital to another planet and you're left with an initial colony building.

I have even seen when I first conquer a planet and it takes you to the planet screen you can see the civ capital on the planet, but the next turn that your opponent gets, he apparently sets a different planet as the civ capital. The next chance you get if you take a look at the planet the civ capital will be replaced by an initial colony.

That certainly looks like a legitimate civ capital and the only way you should be able to get it is if it's some races last planet which means you should have gotten the meanwhile ... screen.

Civilisation Capital (12) + Advanced Farm (7) = 19
So it's all correct.

It was not a civ capital.

It was not a civ capital.

The quintessential man of few words.    So what was it? And how did you figure it out?

It says Civilization Capital. It is a Civilization Capital (look at the name in the screen shot, for christ's sake). You just don't know for sure why it's a Civilization Capital.

Let me try to clarify a bit. I am not sure what the Devs intention was but I really don't think I should get 9 civ caps in one game. Once an AIs cap is taken I think it should revert back to an initial colony. From last game: All of the Major AI HOMEWORLD civ caps switched to initial colony after they had been conquered. I had 4 Minor Races and they all remained as civ caps after being conquered. So there is definitely an issue there, unless Brad and Co. intended this. One was my civ cap of course so that accounts for 5 of the 9. The other 4 are planets the the Major AI switched there civ cap to after there home world had been conquered. Since there home world reverted back to initial colony I beleive these planets should also revert back. Next thought. Why only 4 when I had 6 major AI? 2 of the AI surrendered prior to my taking there homeworld and allowing them to switch civ caps.

Here are a few screenies. Taken at various times during the game but always at least 5 turns after a planet had been conquered to avoid
I have even seen when I first conquer a planet and it takes you to the planet screen you can see the civ capital on the planet, but the next turn that your opponent gets, he apparently sets a different planet as the civ capital.
. This would jive a bit with what I have seen. If they don't get a last turn because they surender the civ cap that is not there homeworld would not update. During the game the 'crown' that signifies Toria as my cap disappeared. It only showed back up after a reload. I did not switch homeworlds during the game. I guess the bottom line is are you supposed to have more than one civ cap?

Actually I think it should neither stay as a civ capital, nor degenerate into an initial colony. Instead it should be a "well established colony" or some such. Basically the reasons you have bonii in the civ capital to because:
1. As the capital, most of your race's economy is based there.
2. As the homeworld, it has VERY heavy infrustructure.

Conquering a planet could degrade the infrustructure, and it not being the capital anymore should degrade things further. But much of the infrustructure COULD be taken intact.

Ideally this would be represented with an infrustructure value that would give a % boost to a planet, and that infrustructure would develop over time (but start out really high in home planet) and would also be damaged when a planet is conqured (depending on the type of attack).
This however is very complicated and is likely not to occur in this version of galciv.
