I got the Start8 1.03a update and it appears to correct the problem. I even tried to recreate the issue by connecting via Remote Desktop, dropping the connection, then logging in at the desktop, but the Start8 menu comes up clean. Thanks for the quick response and keep up the great work!

I installed Start8 on Win 8 Pro x64 from my account, then I enabled the Win 8 Guest account from Start->Control Panel->User Accounts and Family Safety->User Accounts->Manage Another Account. When I switch user to the Guest account, Start 8 presents the Welcome to Start 8 dialog, after which I click on the Try Start8 button, but then the following error occurs: Stardock Start8 Configuration Utility has stopped working When I click on View problem details
